Prospective study of primary anastomosis following sigmoid resection for suspected acute complicated diverticular disease

Abstract

Primary anastomosis is safe and effective in non-obstructed cases of complicated diverticular disease. Colonic obstruction seems to be a risk factor for the development of postoperative complications.
