Mexiletine in the relief of tinnitus: a report on a sequential double-blind crossover trial

Abstract

A double-blind crossover trial assessing mexiletine in the long-term relief of tinnitus is reported. The drug had no effect on the variables recorded. The trial has proved useful in allowing conversion of subjective symptoms to numerical data available for statistical analysis.
