Randomized Prospective Evaluation of Extended Versus Limited Lymph Node Dissection in Patients With Clinically Localized Prostate Cancer

Abstract

Extended node dissection in contemporary series of patients undergoing radical prostatectomy identifies few with nodal metastases not found by a more limited dissection. A trend toward an increased risk of complications attributable to the lymphadenectomy occurs with an extended dissection.
