Abstract Because of the apparent success in the use of the three‐constant Ellis model to describe a wide variety of experimental data, a summary is given of analytical and numerical solutions for this model. The solutions include isothermal flow between flat plates, in tubes, in films, in annuli (axial, tangential, and radial) and nonisothermal flow in tubes with constant wall temperature and with constant heat flux at the tube wall.
