Abstract. The effects of two crystalline fractions of prostaglandin (PGE and PGF) were tested on a variety of isolated organs and on the blood pressure of the rabbit. Characteristic differences in the activity ratio for PGE and PGF were noted for different organs. The biological actions of partially purified preparations of prostaglandin could be largely but not wholly explained by assuming that they contained a mixture of PGF and PGE.
