Abstract. Calxyl, a commercial preparation of calcium hydroxide, induces the formation of a calcified bridge on the dental pulp after pulpotomy. Since the quality of such bridges is not always the same, it was felt necessary to study bridge structure by means of the scanning electron microscope. The present results are observations made with the aid of scanning microscopy on three specimens which revealed that calcium hydroxide induced bridges present large defects and a particular topography.
