Real-time big data analytics: Applications and challenges

Abstract

Timely analytics over big data is a key factor for success in many business and service domains. Some examples of these domains include finance, transportation, energy, security, military, and emergency response. Several big data applications in these domains rely on fast and timely analytics based on available data to make quality decisions. This paper surveys real-time big data analytics applications and their technical challenges.
