Following the success of conventional macro-scale wireless sensor networks, researchers are now investigating the viability of nano-scale sensor networks (NSNs), which are formed by establishing communication between devices made from nanomaterials. Due to unique properties of nanomaterials, it is envisaged that such NSNs can support completely new types of applications beyond what could be achieved with conventional sensor networks.
