The operative time of laparoscopic pyeloplasty remains significantly longer than that of the open procedure in children. The main advantage of the laparoscopic approach is that it significantly decreases hospital stay compared with that after an open procedure. Although in our study analgesic use was less after laparoscopy, our results should be confirmed by a prospective, randomized study.
