Deazapurine derivatives. VII: Synthesis of substituted imidazo‐ and triazolo‐pyridines

Abstract

Abstract The syntheses of several 7‐substituted imidazo[4,5‐ b ]pyridines (6‐substituted 1‐deazapurines) and of 7‐substituted vic ‐triazolo[4,5‐ b ]pyridines (6‐substituted 1‐deaza‐8‐azapurines) are described. A few 6‐substituted 3‐deazapurines and 3‐deaza‐8‐azapurines were also synthesized. Finally the results of an investigation on the effect of the deazapurines upon the growth of S. faecalis are described.
