Moraxella kingii sp.nov., a Haemolytic, Saccharolytic Species of the Genus Moraxella

Abstract

SUMMARY: A new Moraxella species, Moraxella kingii, is described. It is characterized by β-haemolysis, acid production from glucose and maltose, and lack of catalase activity. The strain 4177/66, isolated from a nose swab, is designated as the type strain.
