Abstract

The performance of the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems suffers from severe degradation over the wireless channels with the spectral nulls. Zero-Padded (ZP) OFDM signal guarantees the symbol recovery by using MMSE but faces cubic order complexity in equalizer. In this paper, we propose a low-complexity signal reconstruction to deal with the spectral nulls by utilizing the DFT codes. The simulation results demonstrate that the significant performance improvement can be achieved by using our proposed method over the so-called ZP-OFDM overlap and add scheme with extra yet acceptable complexity.
