Adaptations as imitations: films from novels

Abstract

Adaptations as Imitations returns to the issue of adapting novels to the screen to examine previous commentary and to put forth another theoretical framework. As opposed to the deductive frameworks that rule out what is common practice, this new framework would allow for a more inductive approach to the films.
