Oxometallates with Planar Coordination

Abstract

Abstract Oxo compounds whose coordination polyhedra have a planar structure are a rarity in solid state chemistry. The present state of this research area provides a wealth of interesting principles concerning one‐, two‐, and three‐dimensional linkage of square‐planar structural units. In certain cases the environment of these units in solids requires new conceptual models for the chemical bonding.
