This paper describes a simple technique for the construction and use of a closed, yet demountable vapor cell with MgO single crystal windows. This cell can be used as a resonant scattering cell or as a discharge lamp. As a discharge lamp, it is competitive with the Cario-Lochte-Holtgreven type of flow lamp.
