Abstract

The microvascular decompression technique described is highly successful in treating symptoms due to direct or indirect compression of the cochlear nerve, with minimal risk of complications. Recordings of auditory brainstem responses confirmed the clinical diagnosis of NVC of the eighth cranial nerve and correlated with clinical results after microvascular decompression of the cochlear nerve.
