Predictors of death in pediatric patients requiring cerebrospinal fluid shunts

Abstract

The mortality rate in shunt-treated pediatric patients with hydrocephalus remains high, dependent on the underlying reason for CSF shunt insertion and the subsequent development of infection of the shunt apparatus.
