Abstract N‐terminal amino acid analysis, V AN S LYKE amino nitrogen and V AN S LYKE carboxyl determinations give evidence that hypoglycin B is γ‐L‐glutamyl‐hypoglycin‐A. V AN S LYKE amino nitrogen determinations by the method of G. K AINZ et al. demonstrate that it is possible, at least in the case of hypoglycin B, to avoid the anomalous behavior (reaction of both the amino and the γ‐amide groups with nitrous acid) of γ‐glutamyl peptides with a free α‐carboxyl group.
