Sorption‑compression heat pumps, including the resorption‑compression variant, are defined and recent advances are reviewed. An industrial pilot RC‑heat pump for process vapour production shows promising performance, with cost and efficiency examples provided for various applications.
Elementary and improved sorption-compression heat pumps are defined and recent developments are reviewed. The merits of the most interesting type, i.e. the resorption-compression (RC-) heat pump, are discussed. The performance of an industrial pilot RC-heat pump for production of process vapour is described. Some performance and cost examples for different applications are given.
