ABSTRACT A two‐year‐old chihuahua bitch was presented with urinary incontinence following ovariohysterectomy which had been performed at the time of caesarean section. Clinical, contrast radiographic and surgical investigation revealed the presence of right hydroureter and hydronephrosis, vesicovaginal fistula and absence of most of the urinary bladder. These abnormalities appeared to have resulted from ligation of the caudal bladder, at the level of the trigone, during ovariohysterectomy.
