The input impedance, embedded element pattern, and scattering properties of an infinite, planar array of linearly polarized, stripline-fed, tapered notch elements are obtained using a method of moments solution to a mixed potential integral equation. The problem is cast so that the unknowns are electric currents on the stripline center conductor and magnetic currents in the notches and aperture plane. The analysis is a full-wave model in that all electromagnetic interactions between strip, notches, and aperture are properly accounted for. The basis functions used for both electric and magnetic surface currents are the triangle subdomain functions introduced by Rao, Wilton, and Glisson. The advantage of this choice is that the notch and strip geometries which can be analyzed include any shape whose boundary can be adequately approximated by a polygon. Prediction of active scan reflection coefficients is shown to be in good agreement with measurements obtained from multielement waveguide simulators.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
