A method, based on multi-feedback and multi-feedforward control theory, is developed in the time domain for accurately representing continuous-time state equations by discrete-time state equations. A matrix continued fraction method is used as a basis for this work. It is shown that several commonly used con version procedures are special cases of the method proposed in this paper. It is also shown that if a more accurate model is developed, a larger sampling period can be used. The relaxation of the sampling period requirement facill tates the practical implementation of systems.
