Abstract

An acidic 39-kDa polypeptide (SE39b) secreted from stigmas of tobacco was identified by two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (2D PAGE), and its sugar chain was detected with concanavalin A (Con A) and peroxidase. The amino-terminal amino acid sequence of SE39b resembled those of thaumatin-like proteins.
