ENVIRONMENTAL FLUCTUATIONS IN CENTRAL OKLAHOMA TEMPORARY PONDS

Abstract

Temporary ponds in central Oklahoma present an extremely variable physicochemical environment. A number of properties show extensive circumdiel variations and some even showed large differences among locations within a pond at one time. The magnitude of the spatial and short-term variations in the environment of these small ponds is an important consideration in taking measurements.
