Dually Activated Organo- and Nano-cocatalyzed Synthesis of Coumarin Derivatives

Abstract

Abstract A wide range of substituted coumarin derivatives were synthesized by refluxing in acetonitrile, ethyl acetoacetate, and ethyl benzoyl acetate with a wide range of structurally diverse phenol derivatives within a short reaction time with a catalytic combination of pyridine dicarboxylic acid as organocatalyst and nanocrystalline ZnO.
