Abstract

This paper presents radio channel characterisation at 3.1 and 5.8 GHz with the radio path obstructed by trees. Measurements were carried out by means of a broadband channel analyser. Using different signal combining methods, the path loss, delay interval and delay spread are investigated for summer- and wintertime. The measurement results show that the trunks and branches of the trees can give up to 10 dB increase in path loss over short distances.
