This report describes a large verrucous basal cell epithelioma which developed in the scar of a superficial thermal burn of the forearm. Approximately six months after sustaining a second degree burn from the splattering of hot cooking oil, the patient noticed the development of a small friable, easily traumatized nodule that subsequently developed into a large verrucous basal cell epithelioma. The clinical course of the lesion, its unusual appearance, and the development in the scar of a healed burn prompted us to review the literature and report this case.
