Not a polymeric structure, but discrete molecules are present in the thiolate complexes [{M(SAr)2}2] (M Mn, Fe (1). Co; Ar 2,4,6-tBu3C6H2). The central [M2S2] unit is planar, the metal atoms are surrounded in an almost trigonal planar fashion. Thiolato transition-metal complexes are relevant as models for investigating the active centers in metalloproteins.
