C₄B₂H₆ Isomers: Destabilization of the <i>nido</i>‐Carbaborane Structure by Amino Substituents and a Novel Classical Isomer

Abstract

Classical and non-classical derivatives of C4B2H6 can be synthesized from the borole dianion 1. Depending upon the pattern of substitution, either the classical 2,6-diboroabicyclo[3.1.0]hex-3-ene derivative 2 or the non-classical nido-carbaborane 3 is the more stable.
