In at least three series, examinations of the urine revealed at least one of these findings in 100% of the cases (1-3). Negative or only minimal findings on urinalysis were reported before (4-12). Only in the studies of Cohen and Levitt (4), Berman and Vogelsang (5), and Albert, Leeming, and Scaglione (12) were renal biopsies with light-microscopic evidence of acute glomerulonephritis reported. One of Cohen and Levitt's cases had no hematuria and essentially no proteinuria. Berman and Vogelsang's case had no proteinuria, but there was clear-cut hematuria and cylindruria. The...References1.
