Remifentanil versus alfentanil in total intravenous anaesthesia for day case surgery

Abstract

Early recovery of patients after day surgery is significantly shorter after total intravenous anaesthesia with remifentanil compared with that with alfentanil but postoperative pain management must be planned ahead.
