This paper demonstrates the effectiveness of a novel, robust four-input/four-output controller that takes into account input signal delay through application on 4- and 29-machine test systems. The proposed centralized controller was developed for wide-area applications, where issues of maximum power flow and power quality are important. The algorithms developed in this work are based on the application of linear matrix inequalities to the controller tuning and optimization problem.
