Status of the finite element method in the thermoforming process

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this article is to review the publications dealing with the application of finite elements in the thermoforming process. Although no attempt has been made to discuss the theoretical aspects of these publications, their general methodologies have been presented. The paper is particularly aimed at readers who are seeking an overall view of the subject and possibly interested in acquiring a CAD system for thermoforming technology.
