Infections During Left Ventricular Assist Device Support Do Not Affect Posttransplant Outcomes

Abstract

Although LVADs increase the risk of infection in the early posttransplant period, this appears not to have an impact on transplantability or patient survival and likely reflects effective infection control in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
