Characterisation of tannin‐containing herbal drugs by HPLC

Abstract

An HPLC system equipped with selective detectors was shown to be valuable in the identification of herbal tannin. Most promising was fingerprinting using UV detection, but methanolysis followed by HPLC also proved useful.
