Forty-one samples of honey from Río Negro valley were analyzed. Pollen content of the samples was acetolysed and identified using a collection of reference pollen slides. Twenty-six samples had a mixed floral origin, the other ones were monofloral from Tamarix gallica (8 samples), Eucalyptus sp. (2 samples), Melilotus sp. (1 sample), Centaurea sp. (1 sample), Prosopis sp. (1 sample), Brassicaceae (1 sample) and Monttea aphylla (1 sample). These honeys can be distinguished from those produced in the lower valley of Chubut river, in the same phytogeographical region.
