Laparoscopic intersphincteric resection for low rectal cancer: comparison of stapled and manual coloanal anastomosis

Abstract

Laparoscopic intersphincteric resection with a stapled coloanal anastomosis is technically feasible and is less likely to result in anastomotic leakage and stricture formation than a hand-sewn anastomosis.
