This letter validates a previously reported concept regarding the capability of transmitting multiple signals using one RF chain and a compact switched parasitic array (SPA). The experiments were conducted in an indoor environment using a 2.6 GHz prototype made of a single active printed dipole coupled to two passive ones. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first over-the-air experiment of spatial multiplexing with a single RF frontend yet to be demonstrated.
