This article discusses the use of compressed air to force circulation and counteract stratification in Lake Wohlford Reservoir owned by the Escondido Mutual Water Company in San Diego County, California, in April 1961. Eighty hours of air injection at approximately 210 cfrn reduced the top‐to‐bottom temperature differential from 16.5°F to 2°F. Reservoir stratification was thus eliminated, allowing reaeration of the entire body of water.
