A model of electron distributions in some Mo(CO) 6 derivatives has been constructed from certain correlations among the CO stretching frequencies. The use of spectroscopic data for the compounds Mo(CO) 6−n L n permitted establishing a scale of the relative donor and acceptor powers of more than 50 ligands. [Journal translation]
