Repeated Bone-Targeted Therapy for Hormone-Refractory Prostate Carcinoma: Randomized Phase II Trial With the New, High-Energy Radiopharmaceutical Rhenium-188 Hydroxyethylidenediphosphonate

Abstract

Compared with single-injection therapy, repeated bone-targeted therapy with rhenium-188 HEDP administered to patients with advanced progressive hormone-refractory prostate carcinoma enhanced pain palliation and improved progression-free and overall survival. Larger studies are justified to further evaluate the use of rhenium-188 HEDP.
