Mechanism of the Debromination in Heterocyclization Using α,α-Dibromocarbonyl Compounds as Synthons

Abstract

Abstract α,α-dibromocarbonyl compounds on condensation with phenylacetic acid or thioamide give the furanone or thiazole instead of the expected corresponding 5-bromo products. The mechanistic study have been made to find the reaction path way.
