Comparison of etomidate and propofol for fibreoptic intubation as part of an airway management algorithm

Abstract

For nasotracheal fibreoptic intubation, where the tube is advanced after induction of anaesthesia, we still recommend etomidate because spontaneous breathing recovers faster than with propofol.
