Compact polarisation independent InP reflectivearrayed waveguide grating filter

Abstract

The authors report a compact high performance polarisation-independent InP reflective arrayed waveguide multi-wavelength filter. With a die size of I.2 mm × 2.4 mm, the 8 × 1.6 nm channel filter operated in the 1.5 µm fibre band with –20 dB crosstalk, 4.9 dB of on-chip loss, and no measurable polarisation sensitivity.
