Quantitative and structure analysis of pectin in tobacco by¹³C CP/MAS NMR spectroscopy

Abstract

A new method utilizing¹³C CP/MAS NMR spectra was developed for the simultaneous quantitative and structure analysis of pectin in tobacco. The method was employed to measure pectin after the extraction of tobacco samples with acid under optimal conditions (pH 2.0 for 1.5 h at 85 °C).
