Fungicidal activity and chemical constitution

Abstract

SUMMARY Structure/activity relationships for members of five homologous 4‐(1‐substituted alkyl)‐2,6‐dinitrophenols and apple mildew are discussed with special reference to their hydrophobic bonding constants π. It is suggested that π values may be of use in predicting potential anti‐mildew fungicides with similar modes of action to those of the substances studied.
