We present a patient with coronary heart disease and a heparin- induced thrombocytopenia , who was successfully treated by coronary ar- tery bypass grafting (CABG) using recombinant hirudin as an anticoagu- lant for cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) instead of heparin.
