Abstract

A wire-beam electrode (WBE) fabricated from 100 mild steel wires was used to study the localized corrosion processes of mild steel exposed to several typical corrosive environments. Results confirmed the applicability of a WBE in simulating and monitoring various types of localized corrosion. A new method of localized corrosion rate estimation was developed using a WBE.
