Design and realization of a 4 × 4 microstrip Butler matrix without any crossing in millimeter waves

Abstract

Abstract This paper deals with the design of a 4 × 4 Butler matrix with millimeter microstrip technology. The design of this matrix at around 40 GHz suggests a circuit without any crossing on single‐layer substrate. Thus its main advantage is low cost. Simulations, realization, and measurements are discussed in the present paper. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
