Abstract

Positive washing cytology in patients with gastric cancer is a negative prognostic factor for patients with, as well as those without, overt peritoneal metastases. Resection is an option in patients with clinical stage N0-2 disease without peritoneal metastases but with a positive washing cytology finding.
